Who we are
This website is run by Simien Park Lodges PLC, the company that operates Simien Lodge, registered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. For any question about your data, write to lodge@simiens.com.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept)
If you click Accept in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly which country and city visitors come from, the type of device and browser, and how people found the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. It doesn’t store your IP address, and we don’t use it to identify you or for advertising.
If you click Decline, or make no choice, Google Analytics doesn’t load and no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your own browser. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Analytics data is kept for 2 months. Google may process it outside Europe, including in the United States, under its standard data protection terms.
When you send an enquiry or email us
If you contact us through the enquiry form or by email, we use your name, email address and the details you send only to answer you and to manage your booking. We don’t share them with anyone else except where needed for your stay, for example with a transport provider you ask us to book. Messages sent with the enquiry form are delivered to our inbox by the email service Resend.
Hosting and videos
The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse.
Videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode: YouTube sets cookies only if you play a video. Links to Facebook, Instagram, X and Tripadvisor take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
The map on the contact page comes from Google Maps and loads only if you click “Show on Google Maps”; Google may then set its own cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. You can withdraw consent to analytics at any time with “Cookie settings”. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
